Good looking too!
We launched the wireless service at the Toronto Reference Library as a pilot project to help us figure out the best ways to operate the service before we expand it to other library branches.
When we launched the service, we had no idea what the demand was going to be like. (In fact, that was one thing we wanted to evaluate.) The Reference Library can be very busy, and we worried about people getting frustrated if they could never sign on because the maximum number of simultaneous users had already been reached. The interruptions at regular intervals are intended to give more people a chance to connect to the wireless service. Otherwise, some people might stay connected all day, and others would never be able to connect.
If you make a page request during the last 5 minutes of your session, you’ll get a warning message that gives you the opportunity to continue without interruption – but if you happen to be doing something like composing an email or blog entry, which doesn’t involve sending any requests from the browser, unfortunately, there’s no warning. I’m really sorry to hear that you lost some of your work.
We’re evaluating the pilot project right now, so it’s a perfect time to get feedback like yours. We’ll be looking at all the options we have to improve the service while still making sure we provide equitable access.
Thanks for your comments.

This summer meandering will help me get through the winter
This blog is full of interesting photography.
Is it a shame that this site isn’t being updated?
Lots to see in the past 5 years, my favorite is Fall Drizzle – http://picsofcanada.com/2007_fall-drizzle/
Found your picture when working on some recommendations for a new vision for Bloor-Dundas neighbourhood (working with local residents assoication and a group called “Friends of Dundas and Bloor”). In a community visioning session with the city in January 2008, some people suggested looking at ways to get more use from amenities at Bishop M. We’ve had challenges getting input from the Crossways. If you are still living there, would you like to contribute?
Nice to see you updating the site again.
Very touching story.
i am a student at bishop and i agree that there should be more sprot games played on the field.
Thank you for such a lovely review of our Mill Pond and the park and area surrounding it. My house is just off to the left of your “Dining at Dusk” photo. My husband and I moved to this area two years ago after falling in love with the lake – the vegetation, the swans, the lovely flowers and the surrounding woodsy paths which are so well maintained yet remain, as you point out, natural landscapes of trees on the hillsides, bullrushes and cattails.
There is stupid-frenzy building going on just on the other side of Bathurst in Vaughn. Vaughn ciy management seems to have no scruples whatsoever – they’re in a mad tax grab orgasm that will only result in devaluation of the entire area.
Happened to me tooo … why post the ticket machines if they don’t work???
great pics do you have any more, I was one of the un smart people that was in a canoe with 3 guy’s and we sunk 3 times ?
Will there be tours and wine tasting?
[editor]Yes indeed just call Oak Heights for days and schedules.
Love your sites, but they need a common HOME – INDEX at the bottom of each page, so you can find your way around them.
I will happy to do a analysis of all of them for you, if you could do some minor tweakes so I can get from one to the other without racking my brain for the names of each site.
So, what do you think? Do we have a deal??
hi my name is Chris Gabriel i am really lucky i got to be on the team laoyam eagle and got to race on in the world championships in philidelphia (RIP to Frankie Wells the guy that gave the team the logo and name Devil eagles)
This is not spam, I am part of an organized effort to raise awareness of gutting of the Navigable Waters Protection act and how it effects all outdoor users in the Country.
I don’t know if you are aware of the concerns the paddling community has risen over this issue.
And I know in your positition you may not be able to make a stand,
Could you forward this on to your racers and memberships.
There is alot of information to catch up on but here are some links.
A lillte bit of the history how we became aware of this issue.
I hope you can help out and encourage your members to reach out and contact all the other outdoor usergroups this will effect.
Thanks for including me on this site. How wonderful to have the long lunch so beautifully documented. Thanks again. Mary (the artist)
I love the review! You verbalize things about my work very well, which makes me happy because it means the message is getting across.
Beautiful work Barbara! I hope to come out and see the whole exhibition!
I thought that it was just me having problems using the kiosks at Union Station for the past year or so…. the ones at other locations seem to work however, including Oakville.
Overall, most of the VIA staff are pretty good, especially those on board the trains. In the stations though, they sure don’t move too fast, but I would say that they are on average better than Air Canada (again, I would say that the Air Canada employees in the air are mostly good, the problem is the extreme slowness in the airports, and the fact that they spend so much time talking to each other and complaining rather than servicing the customers).
VIA still is the better way versus flying, though for sure providing some incentive for those employees who do work hard would go a long way to making it better for all.
I know what you mean! I thought this reassessment was a hoax because it was busy all the time. They do this purposely so that you don’t complain until the point where you give up and decide to simply pay the damn thing. I really need to appeal this and I don’t know where to call!
save to my Bookmarks )
Yeah, I’ve had the same problem. Though, I have gotten through on this number before, to be fair. It’s surprising that TAX CANADA would have such shoddy service – or maybe not so surprising…
I’m with you jbsurveyer, I can’t believe it…busy signal all the way. I mean I feel disrespected already when I’m on hold for 10 minutes and they tell you that you’ll be holding for 10 minutes but a busy signal??? all the time? why would they even put it on the letters they send. Are they kidding with us?
Great Site, love the blog
i’m a student at bishop and i totally disagree with what you have said, since i’ve been at bishop we have always been outside for gym.. thats where i met most of my friends. Of course you dont see people out in the field in the morning because it is usually cold so hardly anyone would participate. There usually arent any games on that feild because its too small, you cant play a proper game. Sports are and always will be an important part of the school.
Hi JohnMcQuirk / Music Director
Just dropping a line to you to see if there might be any opennings for THE SILVERLEAF JAZZ BAND for the 2009 jazz series in Port Hope Jazz Fest. I sent you a BIO on the band a couple of years ago.
Thx Jack / e-mail email@example.com

I found your blog from google and read your posts. It’s fun and I just add your blog to my Google Reader. Keep up your good posts friend. I’m Looking forward to read more fun from this blog. Thanks…
Hip waders? Only if you want them filled and the current to drag you under. 2008 was a fast and high water year. If you went in the drink then with hip waders on you would pretty well drown.
Jack – I wish I had some influence ovre this .. als none for me.
I would like to a quote from part of this post as an introduction to my Scottish Country Dance research paper. (I am a college student in a History of Dance course.) I was wondering how to cite you–Should I cite “jbsurveyer” or your real/full name?
Jacques Surveyer will be fine-editor
I am a member of the Vancouver Island Scottish Country Dance Society (the Van Isles for short) in Victoria BC. We are putting together a publicity poster to promote our club and Scottish Country dancing and I wonder if we could use some of your pictures.(with a credit to you of course).I loved your article as you expressed so well what Scottish Country Dancing is all about. We also have a summer dancing in the park program so if you are ever out this way come and join us!
I called 3x in about 5 minutes. The third time, it picked up. “Their goal is to answer my call in the next two minutes!”
Youre obviously knowledgeable abou the subject – Im a noob. Come take a look at my site and let me knom what you think.
It is funny how people tends toresearch about the “number” more than the actual situation,it doesnt matter howmany people are dying or even going through poverty. The main issue is to meet our needs, which is to attain peace. This war has been on going, yet no movement towards the government or anything, this shows how sellfish and brutal governments are. Tamil tigers, another name, to geteverything cleared out Tamil Tigers is not atitle of terrorist yet an army who is saving tamils back home. Another thought that i may add is the media, media protrays in what the viewers want to hear or what makes it more interesting by adding false information as well as the media cannot be a reliable source. For an example take the weather, people ould atch the news to see the weather yet the weather that the news media post is notaccurate, tehy would say its sunny, yet it was raining. You cannot predict what will happen the next day, you must live your life as day by day. Google may be the best source to research information, but it is not a tool to use to make accurate statements as well as for wikipedia, wikipedia is not reliable anyone can goon and edit the information that had been provided, wikipedia is a great tool when researching, many studies have shown that.
Overall, the protest must be heard, since that is my motherland. Iam from Canada originally, and i feel that my second country needs Canada’s guidance and assistance, and governments need to stop being greedy and brutal and must step up. It is not the 60s where men had a voice and women were not considred as people, it is 2009 we must change the way people counteract with each other. Teamwork is the key factor for all of this, yet i may seem like a biast just because i am talking about one perspetive yet that is truth and yet that is what exposes all the time.
May I use one of your photos for a poster I am putting together to invite people to our Scottish country Dance Open House? I emailed this question to you in April but have not heard back.

Indian food is always good for student recipes especially if you are cooking for many, cheap to make and tastes great!
I am writing to say what a great job you did on this as you have put a lot of work into it.
Hi there, I’m the Band Director for the Toronto Santa Claus Parade, and I wanted to commend you on your excellent job on posting the pictures! We’re so busy the day of the parade organizing everything, we don’t have time to take pics of the bands! i’d love to get full sized jpgs of all the pics if possible!
Cheers, and thanks!

I am looking for some material on Alto Saxaphones and I’ve just come across this website! An interesting read which I have found to be of value. I look forward to have more time to take in more.
The way I found out about the switch and empty promises was when I got in a car accident (100% NOT my fault). I tried to call 24/7 claims department on Sunday. I was told that “The office is closed. Office hours are M-F, 8-8pm”. Even a pamphlet at the reporting centre directed me to he same phone number. So much for 24/7. I new right then and there, I will have problems with my claim. I was right. I am definitely changing insurance and I will be changing my banking as well. How much is a client worth to President
Bonjour ? tous ! J’ai trouv? un service super pour ceux qui ne sont pas trop amis avec le webmastering 😉
Et bien moi aussi j’ai trouve’ un service de web qui est bien fait. Mais j’attends votres pensees de Flora Internationale.
Well I also have found a web provider which is don ewell. But I await your thoughts by International Flora
This is misleading. I have PC Financial insurance, and I read through the news that PC Financial would no longer be offering home and auto insurance. Like you, I wasn’t notified.
However, they allowed me to renew my existing policy and never did I not have insurance. I’m not going to complain. I now see that they are offering auto insurance again and I’m hoping that things like my disappearing deductible are still in effect.
Hi there, I found your blog via Yahoo and google while looking for Harley Davidson shifter linkages and your web site caught my curiosity.

Someone said to me, wow the Closing Ceremonies was fanstastic – I felt my face screw up in a little ball and thought, huh? Did I miss something? Did they? But this commentary was right on – I just know the next closing ceremonies will make us eat dust.
thanks for that
Well the English in London will have the next try at a closing ceremonies – the Chinese were not too bad in 2008 Summer Olympics . but Calgary in 1988 was one of the best.
One of the things I really like about blog articles is the fact that they spark a thought in my mind. After that happens, I feel like I have to respond wishing it can be valuable to others.there are lots of blogsuseful I find myself coming back to to your blog site simply because you have some terrific insights, that is very impressive.triggering thoughts
Hey, this is one terrific post! Thanks for posting this. I was looking for a site that has this kind of info. Glad I found this one! I’ll be dropping by here again for sure! ^_^
The name of the artist of Blue Tree (glass sculpture) is Gundi, not Viviani-Finch.
Great job on the photography. Ever considered entering the race? With your 6′5″ frame you could bail out anywhere and just step over the waterfalls (les chutes. The pictures always take better from inside the boats too.
See you ‘in’ the water on your fanny
I’m looking for a 1976 Suzuki GT750A. A1 condition, numbers matching, all Original with Low Mileage. Can you help me. Thank you.
I have passed your email along to a freind who may be able to help. He should contact you directly.
I had heard about this event from several people, but this was the first year I was able to go, and I was definitely NOT disappointed. The kids and I thought it was fantasitc to see all of the imaginative craft coming down the river. And were very surprised to see that some of the craft were armed with water balloons and squirt guns. But that’s okay, the spectators on the shore and bridge were more than happy to fire back with their own balloons and big bags of water to drench the flotilla! We’ll definitely be back next year with some extra friends. Cheers!
Hello I’m happy to finding your blog, I really found you by mistake, while I was looking on Yahoo for a Cordless Kettles. Anyways I am here now and would just like to say thanks for a tremendous post and a all round entertaining blog (I also love the theme/design), I don’t have time to read it all at the moment but I have bookmarked it and also added your RSS feeds, so when I have time I will be back to read more, Please do keep up the great work. .
What a cool collage of the truck! We had a great time in Port Hope and are excited to return for the Estival!
Hi Loved finding your page. Thanks so much for the great review of my wine preserves and fruit vinegars. I had fun doing the Maple Fest in Warkworth. What a lovely little town. I will be back next year for sure. The show organizers said I could do wine sampling as I was in the Legion and the are already a licensed venue.
Would it be alright to post this as an review on my facebook page?
See you this summer. I have been working hard in the kitchen. I will have some new varieties of preserves when you come. See you at the winery. We are open every day, 10 am to 6 pm.
Kawartha Country Wines
Trish – I am glad that you enjoyed the review as much as I enjoyed the jams and preserves. Surely, Facebook away and looking for ward to a Kawartha trip in June-July. -Jack

Depends on the type of bike. Motor bike – go to Port Perry or Campbellfford Time Hortons any Tuesaday evening in the summer time and you will see Motor Bike meet-ups. If it is pedal bike cycling of any type, go to Ontario Cycling.
Glad i discovered this web site.Added “Toronto Santa Claus Parade 2009” to my bookmark!
I’m currently studying marketing here in montral and i am hoping to finish pretty soon. Your site has given me some insightful information into a project which i am working on right now. Thank you for offering this to the public. Great work.
Good advice in this article, I’m a old classic automobile enthusiast as well and I love to restore cars in my extra time, my latest project is a convertible 69 Judge.
In ballroom dancing, my favorite dance is Rumba and the Flamenco.~*,
I really love them all. Nice bold color use, very clean and modern feel- beautiful.
Julie – Such comments warm the hearts of avuncular enthusiast and Alicia both. Alicia more recent work has been exploring using marker pens totem-like drawings but still with a penchant for dramatic color combinations and shadings. Also she is doing a few more etchings; her work here can be magnificent but as you know – I am biased. Again, thanks for the kind words. – Jack
Great pictures of the dancers. Wish the Pipers and Drums were also included. I was looking for a photo of the well. Did not see it. When I was a child mom put me in the well and took my picture. I still have it. If I ever visit Toronto again I will put the Gardens on my “Must visit” list.
(if anyone has any currant pics of the well please post them or send them to me. I would be interested to see how the well looks after all these years)
We rarely dance Country Dance to the Pipes. The bands we use are usually lead by Accordian or Fiddle and Piano.
Nip Tuck is a unique TV Series just like House MD.-**
very sweet post
What is the name of the tree that produces, they look like long broad beans, on the Castle grounds? This tree also has very large leaves.
This… is… so BEAUTIFUL!!!
I have to say this season is exceptionally lovely. the brilliant Reds yellows and orange colors on the trees seem to be more viberent more so this yr then the past few yrs.
wall arts are nice addtion to a great home too. my kids love to see wall arts `
Yes Mr Surveyor. You are very generous and calm considering your are 100% right. I would have kept snapping and tried hard to get shots of HER and of the volleyball AUTHORITIES. Personally I would kept shooting even as they forbid it – they could have called cops, which usually arrive forty minutes after they are needed, but even then the cement head OPP cops in Cobourg would know you are 100% legal.
Very artistic Pictures of canadaLove the paintings tbag
Lol this is real art sukers
How do I register for this Warkworth workshop?
I definitely like your internet site but you need to take a look at the spelling on quite a few of your articles. Some of them are filled with punctuation mistakes and I believe it is very problematic to tell the truth nonetheless I definitely will come back again.

Awesome, but it would be better if in future you can share more about this subject. posts.
Our UK visitors were somewhat taken aback when my wife suggested attending this event! “Fanny” has a different meaning over there!
Ahh country roads, take me home, to the place where I belong…
What is the date of this years(2011)event? I want to be there! I video’d and posted on YouTube last years event. You can see my video’s at http://www.youtube.com/railrodder
This little village is a pretty amazing place. You could do a whole blog called The Warkworth Journal.
Ye Editor is doing exactly that – see Warkworth Cares! –
just started blog about things Warkworthian.
I like your blog design. It is easy to navigate, clean, uncluttered and the colours are very harmonious. Also, the information you are providing is top notch and very useful. Please keep up that great work.
Remarkablygood set of portraits … and there were some great sleigh, kidzoo, and sugarbush shots to choose from. All in all, a great photographic feast.
Susan’s photo of sleigh approaching through the woods.
As co-convenors of the Warkworth Maple Syrup Festival we would like to congratulate everyone who took the time to photograph the event. You captured so much of it – just amazing. Congratulations to Pix of Canada & JB Surveyer & Warkworth Public Library for hosting the contest and for making it possible for everyone to visually enjoy the event, even if they could not attend this year. This festival is truly a ‘community event’ and your efforts are greatly appreciated. Brenda Partridge & Carol Hamilton, Warkworth ON.
Thank you for another wonderful article. Where else could anyone get that type of info in such an ideal way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m on the look for such info.
Thanks for taking this possiblity to speak about this, Personally i think strongly regarding it and I benefit from studying this subject. If at all, while you gain data, please update this site with new information. I’ve found it extremely useful.
Good reporting Jacques. Voting starts n May 15th 2011 for the four Lenzr photo contests – the prizes are advanced digital cameras, and $500 worth of free groceries from Click Clip Deals.
I don’t think this has been covered yet but what I see here is a lot of people writing posts and many of these posts are well thought out. How many of you currently make any money online? If you enjoy writing, or even if you can tolerate writing, you should be able to make some money online. Whether you are a believer or a skeptic, you should really check this out. What if I told you that I know about a couple of software titles that could make it possible for you to excel at making money online? Even if you have never heard of press releases, article and marketing or podcasts, you soon will if you use this software. Two hours of coaching are included with the software. So if you are brand new to this, you can grab all the details in the step by step video presentations or if you are already well on your way to being a successful Internet marketer, you can skim through all of that and get right to the 2 very well-rounded pieces of software that come with this package. The 2 pieces of software that you’ll get are article marketing submission & rewriting software, and video submission software that will bring lots of traffic if used correctly. This entire package would be perfect for the newcomer to Internet marketing as well as the seasoned professionals. Go ahead and check it out: http://adf.ly/1WHhr
I love these type of photo contests.

As a hefty tax payer in Northumberland county this reader would like to know if the Apple Blossom Festival Spelling Bee is viewed as a)a nuisance, b)irrelevant, c)another time drain or d)something we would all like but practically speaking really can’t do by the Northumberland School Board and other Catholic and private grade school administrators.
trying to enter a photo and email not working firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks – it is fixed now.
What date is this year (2012) Apple Blossom Tyme Festival?

Thanks for your thoughts, The expense, inside dollars, to produce x litres of maple syrup for the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival is C(x) = 75(sqrtx – 10), where x is greater than or equal to 400 a) What is the average expense of producing 625L?
Keep up the posts!
Looks like a lot of fun but where is the photos of the entertainers in the SugarBush and the many goodies on sale in town?
Great Pics Jacques, # 15 of my Grandson came out perfect. Thanks! Joe
That was great….Totally enjoyed, I’m allergic to lilacs so I was glad to see what was going on, on the Millenium Walk. Thank you.
Thanks for the great piece! Incidentally, my website is under construction, but will be up soon at http://www.heathermunro.ca. In the meantime, all of my new work–and lots of the old stuff–is posted on my facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/heathermunroartist.

We are very appreciative of the PICSOFCANADA website’s excellent profile of our recent War of 1812 Bicentennial and 45th Anniversary Celebration event. There is an incorrect reference in the text which I must advise you of. Please note, the Heritage Celebration in Story and Song play entitled “Without the Shedding of Blood” will be performed on Friday & Saturday, September 14, 15, 21, & 22, 2012 with gates opening at 7:00 pm each night. Thank you once again for your thorough snd illustrative coverage of our event.

Try the following story about the Cathedral Lane to be found in the Northumberland Hills in the Fall –
Also, it’s worth mentioning that our comrades south of the border share the same experience. Since I’m lucky enough to be a citizen of both countries I have to do this with both the CRA and IRS.. but instead of a busy signal you get an answering machine, as if you’re phoning someones house… or mansion.
and “lucky enough” ??
These photos are beautiful and truly capture the essence of Lang. I love this place..always peaceful and calming. My cell phone doesn’t even work when I enter the gates (but works in the parking lot!) I agree, if you’re in the Kawartha’s…visit Lang Pioneer Village.
Strange but behind the pigpen the woods seem to be on fire. Is this true or just the play of the sunlight
A vanity gallery is an art gallery that charges fees from artists in order to show their work, much like a vanity press does for authors. The shows are not legitimately curated and will frequently or usually include as many artists as possible. Most art professionals are able to identify them on an artist’s resume.;.*.
I think I was talking with you at our Northumberland Potters booth.
It is really nice to see your pictures of our pots, and your comments.
I hope to see you at the library June 18th.
Just wanted to send a big thank you to the person who was responsible for posting pics of my paintings and a review.
Appreciate it very much!!!
Best wishes to you,
Yours is one of the best shows I have seen this year at Campbelford Library. Also it gave me an opportunity to try the 3D Gallery slider – which work well with your art works. By the way I am interested in buying one of your works on display. Tell me how and when.
You need to be a part of a contest for one of the highest quality websites on the net.
I’m going to highly recommend this site!
My modesty is blushing inordinately – but I will take as prize your esteem plus a few more visitors to the site.

A friend and I have concluded that the Bird and Butterfly Migration Lectures at Brighton’s nearby PresQuil Park on Aug 29th to 31st along with the Horse Pull Competitions at the Warkworth and Port Hope Fall Fairs help make them our must see Fall events.
Trenton High school offers a pottery course!! However, Terrie teaches great courses and and it’s great fun – and informative – to work in her studio.
And the location is mighty fine in the summer; not to mention the great sculptures by Claus around the household. Definitely a Go To course for anyone interested in pottery.
Great presentation – next one is Probus in Campbelfford April 12th
I love ❤ this game I want to learn it can someone please help me!
Thanks so much for all your efforts here – much appreciated!
Don Montgomery and the tennis gang have been my secret pleasure the last year and a half. But … shhhhh, don’t tell any one.
Good job Jacques. You captured the right mood at these tennis sessions. Wounded or not I enjoy playing with the gang. Thanks.
Yes indeed. My Right knee is getting more wobbly so I will be looking for a brace too.

Jack, The first issue of your blog (last yr?) was good. But this one is even better!
